ISLAMABAD, March 29 -- Eleven militiamen were kidnapped Sunday from the Khyber agency in northwestern Pakistan. The private Geo TV reported that militants, in an ambush at the Tehsil Bara Sheen Qamar check post in Khyber, kidnapped 12 personnel of the Khasadar Force, a local tribal armed group, and set the check post at fire. One militiaman was later released, according to the report. The Khasadar Force men were receiving murder and abduction threats since two or three days ago while Fida Muhammad, a low-rank officer of the Khyber agency Khasadar Force has been in the custody of the extremists for one and a half month. The Geo also reported that some unknown persons abducted six local extremists from the Bara area of Bur Qumberkhel when the extremists were searching the vehicles on Bur Qumberkhel Road. |
