Russia blasts U.S. hype about China airship

The Russian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday denounced Washington for hyping the situation regarding China's civilian unmanned airship.

"We believe that the explanation given by the Chinese side regarding the entry of a Chinese unmanned airship into U.S. airspace due to force majeure is quite sufficient and understandable," the ministry's spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a statement.

China has acted responsibly in this difficult situation, but the impulsive reaction of Washington and the American media can be only called hysterical, she stressed.

"The United States continues, for far-fetched reasons and often without them, to denigrate and demonize countries that do not intend to dance to its tune," Zakharova said.
